Commercial Building in Feltham

We carried out the structural investigation of the main building elements of a commercial building in Feltham. Work was undertaken for the structural engineer appointed by the main contractor. We carried out coring for strength externally and internally; cover surveys for steel detail non-destructively; selective breakouts to confirm steel detail; chloride ingress assessment and carbonation depth measurement. We also took a bulk concrete sample in order to carry out HAC testing to determine if the concrete frame included High Alumina Cement.

Visual assessment onsite identified low cover to the soffit of precast floor slabs in the external stairs. Additionally, the primary beams appear to have a low density of steel.
